Extras

I do not know how I’ve been sleeping on this pattern. I love all of the styles and I am so excited that this a knit pattern. Who doesn’t need a basic knit pencil skirt? Who doesn’t love to twirl in a swing style? And who doesn’t want the fancy look of box pleats with the simple construction of a knit pattern? I have a woven box pleat pattern but knit was definitely missing in my collection. This pattern has zero closures! So easy to whip up and easy to pull on! Best of both worlds!

I made the swing style and went for a length between the knee and midi. Of course there are shorten/lengthen lines so easy peasy! The pattern comes in sizes XS-4X. I made size L and as usual the size chart is spot on. Perfect fit! I totally questioned the waistband measurement but I love how snug it is. It isn’t tight at all.. super comfy.. but snug enough to hold up without elastic.

My fabric is a snake print scuba crepe. My mom totally cringed at the snakiness but ended up loving it in this silhouette. Who can really resist a good twirl? I used my twin needle to finish the hem and I omitted the pockets because I wanted a sleeker look with absolutely no bulk. I styled my snake swing skirt with a black cutout bodysuit, black heels and gold earrings. I love how the orange pops of the skirt and I am pretty sure I will always pair it with black.

Lucky for me, I had a tiny bit of scrap left and I was so excited I printed the pencil version hoping I could get knee length. Who was I kidding? I had to hack off 5 inches to fit on the fabric and I was majorly worried I would be flashing my lady parts. Thankfully, the waistband is really wide, about 3 inches so the skirt length is perfectly fine. It’s a really cute mini snake skirt. I styled this one very casually with a black tee knotted at the waist, flip flops and a layered necklace.

Next on the list? Asymmetrical wrap and box pleated. Which should I tackle first? Or better yet.. which would you tackle first? Don’t forget to grab the Sybil Illusion Skirt Collection for 50% off the original price over on the Love Notions website.. and while you’re at it.. throw in a few more patterns.. this type of sale does not happen too often! Up tomorrow? A leopard print Lyric Dress with a diy belt! Make sure you come back here tomorrow to see what I made!

😍😍😍😍😍 Keira!!! I been eyeing some snake prints at Abeds, and you would go now and have me fully inspired girl!! I love the Sybil skirt collection and strangely, have only ever made any of the skirts for others. Hmmm, now I feel like I must rectify this although it’s probably because I’m more of a pants girl. This bodysuit though! Gorgeous!
